Finally see where
your time really goes.
Zeitblick runs quietly in the background and automatically records which programs, games and websites you use. No timer to start, no screenshots, no surveillance. Just an honest picture of your day.
€10 per year · 7-day free trial · for Windows · English & German
Some browsers warn during the download ("isn't commonly downloaded") and Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" on first launch. Both happen only because the file is new and not yet code-signed, not because anything is wrong. Click "Keep" when downloading and "More info" → "Run anyway" when starting it.
Example view. Zeitblick shows your own real categories, of course.
“I simply wanted to see where my day disappears to, without logging anything by hand. So I built it, for myself. Now Zeitblick is good enough that I don't want to keep it to myself anymore.”
Ready to see your time?
One file, one double-click, installed. Runs entirely on your own PC.
Available for Windows · 7-day free trial
Your time disappears, and you don't know where.
The day is just gone
Between work, a few browser tabs and quick distractions, you completely lose track of how much time really goes where.
See an example →Timers fail because you're human
Starting and stopping timers by hand works exactly until you forget once. After that the data is useless and you're back to square one.
How automatic tracking works →Surveillance feels wrong
Most tracking tools are built for bosses: screenshots, keylogging, constant monitoring. You just want clarity for yourself, not surveillance.
How Zeitblick protects your privacy →Automatic time tracking you can trust
Less effort, more clarity, and data you can rely on, without changing how you work.
Fully automatic, private tracking
Zeitblick detects which program or website is active every 5 seconds, in the background, without you lifting a finger and without anything leaving your device.
See the live preview →Smart categories and website detection
Over 10 categories, from productivity to gaming to social media, sort every activity automatically, including individual websites in your browser.
Who it's for →Insights without end-of-day sorting
A Google-Calendar-style week view plus bar charts, pie charts and top lists for day, week and month, all ready whenever you look.
See pricing →100% private, 100% local
All data stays on your own device. No account required, no cloud.
Your own categories
Move any program or website to a different category with one click.
It just runs
Starts automatically with Windows and runs invisibly in the background.
This is your day, before you even think about it.
No logging, no catching up in the evening. Every block appears on its own while you work, study or play.
Example view. Every block is detected, named and colored automatically.
This is perfect for you if …
Zeitblick is built for individuals, not teams. If you want to know where your own time goes, you're in the right place.
Students
See how much time really goes into lectures, studying and distractions, without keeping a log yourself. Ideal before exams, to honestly see where you stand.
Freelancers and the self-employed
No more guessing how long a project really took. Zeitblick runs quietly alongside you, so you can quote more accurately and plan your day realistically.
Gamers and streamers
Detects individual games automatically, including launchers and anti-cheat helpers. See in black and white how gaming and productive time balance out.
Remote workers
Without an office and a fixed structure, work and free time blur quickly. Zeitblick shows when you were really focused and when you weren't.
Anyone who wants more focus
Sometimes it's enough to honestly see how much time social media and co. really eat. That alone often changes how you plan your day.
Visibility without surveillance.
Clarity without control.
No screenshots, no keylogging
Zeitblick only reads window metadata: the program name and the window title. Screen content is never recorded or stored.
Your data stays with you
No cloud, no account login for your tracking data. Everything lives locally on your own device, nobody else sees it.
Built so you want to use it
Zeitblick is not a monitoring tool. It only works because it helps you understand your own time, not because it watches you.
Zeitblick keeps growing.
🎯 Focus timer
A built-in Pomodoro mode: focus for 25, 45, 60 or 90 minutes. Distracting apps and websites are minimized automatically during the session, with a short reminder and a break suggestion afterwards.
⬇️ One click, always up to date
Download a single file, open it, done. It installs itself with a shortcut and a proper uninstall entry, and checks for new versions on startup.
🖥️ macOS support
Zeitblick currently runs on Windows. A macOS version is planned once the Windows version is fully polished.
One plan. No fine print.
A fair yearly price instead of an expensive monthly subscription. The first 7 days are free.

Frequently asked questions
Does it take screenshots of my screen?
No. Zeitblick only reads window metadata, meaning the program name and the window title. There are no screenshots, no keylogging and no screen recording, neither stored nor sent anywhere.
Where does my data go?
Only onto your own device. There is no cloud and no account needed for your tracking data. Nobody but you sees what you did and when.
Does Zeitblick run on Mac?
Right now Zeitblick is built for Windows. A macOS version is on the roadmap once the Windows version is fully polished.
What does it cost, and can I cancel anytime?
Zeitblick costs €10 per year, and the first 7 days are free. At checkout the price is shown in your local currency. You can cancel anytime, your subscription simply won't renew. Your tracked data stays on your device. How to cancel.
How accurate is the tracking?
Zeitblick checks the active window every 5 seconds and automatically detects idle time after 3 minutes without mouse or keyboard input. That's accurate enough for everyday life without drowning you in second-by-second detail.
What if a category doesn't fit?
You can move any program or website to another category with one click. Your change applies immediately and permanently.
My browser or Windows shows a warning. Is that dangerous?
No. Both the download warning ("isn't commonly downloaded") and "Windows protected your PC" appear because the file is new and not yet signed with a paid certificate, not because anything was found. Click "Keep" when downloading, and "More info" and then "Run anyway" when opening it.
Is the app in English?
Yes. Zeitblick is fully available in English and German, you can switch the language at the top of the sidebar.
